Bass Kleph (AU) @ FuZen/Dropped Xmas Party

Bass Kleph - DJ Mix

A DROPPED party the last weekend before Christmas at the biggest club in New Zealand with one of Australia's best DJs and free entry if you're dressed as Santa.

Shit.

DROPPED went slightly overboard this year so join us as we kick 2010 in the cunt and wave hello to 2011!

What could be better than seeing a mob of wasted Santa's with a few Mrs. Claus' in tow? Bugger all, which is why if dressed in costume you will be allowed in for free before midnight. The door is capped at $10 the whole night for everyone else. Cheap. Go.

"Vincent Mason is known all over the world for his role as DJ Maseo of the legendary Hip Hop group, De La Soul and his electrifying skills as a DJ. No one could have predicted that Maseo’s natural ability and immense talents on the turntable would enable him to travel the world and become a Hip Hop phenomenon.

Born and raised In Brooklyn, New York, Maseo’s interest in music emerged at the young age of six as he observed a family friend practicing on his DJ equipment. Maseo’s ambitious journey to stardom officially began when his mother gave him his very own set of turntables. Destined for success, Maseo dedicated all of his free time to mastering his craft by observing neighborhood DJs. Maseo made his first debut as a DJ, at the age of twelve. By the time Maseo reached high school his DJ skills were immeasurable.

During high school Maseo’s life would be forever changed as he and two of his high-school friends, Kelvin Mercer and David Jolicouer, formed one of the most highly respected and critically acclaimed rap groups, De La Soul. In 1989, the trio released their first album, 3 Feet High and Rising. De La Soul was an instant success and the album was certified platinum. Since their initial release, De La Soul has continued to play a prominent role in the music industry releasing six additional albums: De La Soul is Dead, Buhloone State of Mind, Stakes is High, AOI: Mosaic Thump and AOI: Bionix. During the course of their long-standing career, De La Soul have received Soul Train, MTV and Grammy award nominations. Tiki Taane (NZ) Summer Time Video Shoot @ Piha

Hi all,

I had the pleasure of being involved in a video shoot, for a new Tiki Taane release, last Sunday over at Piha. And, above are a few shots I fired off very casually during the day.

Regarding the new release, which is due out very soon I hear, some of my photography may feature in the CD booklet. I’ll let you know as soon as I find out!

Kind regards

First Pentax K-r Red Test Shots

Hi all,

As some of you may already know, I ordered a new camera last week, and this morning it arrived.

After very thorough research, I decided on a Pentax K-r Red, with an 18 – 55 mm lens, as it represented the best value for money, and it’s stylish as hell – like me! ;)

I could have gone with the ubiquitous Canon’s and Nikon’s, that every other photographer around town seems to be lugging. However, those cameras just don’t excite me at all, and for the price range I was looking at, don’t offer the quality and value of the Pentax.

Above are a couple test shots I just fired off. They’re nothing special, just my usual post-processing tricks, and are from an untuned, as of yet, camera.

Give me a moment or two to wrap my head around the new camera, and I can promise you some of my wildest photography ever!

Kind regards
