Ghettozoid is not only a creative force in her own right, she is also the brainchild, the mindbirth, and the biosludge of Bristol, UK’s Sophie Ruston Recently the wind of fate have blown a mighty blow that sent her sails to the sultry shores of Germany’s crown jewel, Berlin, where she currently is entrenched in a Euro-dream: Running her One4Ho imprint with label partner Mai Harper and producing tracks and collaborating with engineers such as Wizard and ginger dream boat, Ginz.

But lets look back to 2009. Yes lets glance back at the past before we try in vain to keep up with her vicious and violent thrusts into a future brighter than the brightest platinum.

Now the dawning of the Ghettozoid future: Early 2010 will see a tour of America as Bubbz’s tour DJ, hitting up SXSW, NYC and MWMC the launch of her One4Ho imprint, with the release of her own Power-Riddim “Seeking” feat the vocal magic of Yolanda with remixes from Blue Daisy and Teknoist. Farther on into positive chronology we can begin to glimpse the hourglass outline of collaborations and Platinum Hits from an all star cast of Platinum hit-making stars. (Did we mention the word Platinum enough yet?)

Ghettozoid puts the Robo back into Robotronic Boogaloo and puts the Ghetto back into Postindustrial-Ghettowarfare. In her spare time she is attempting to modify an 808 in order to make it sexually compatible with her Zoid and hopes to vocode the result.

The FWD resident and Rinse FM veteran is known for his unique production style, which has seen him work with the likes of Lethal Bizzle, M.I.A., The Black Ghosts, JME, Skepta, Wiley, Kosheen and a whole host of other vocalists.

PLASTICIAN has played a massive role in the popularity of the dubstep genre thanks to his participation in the Rephlex Grime compilations, his primetime pirate radio shows and his own slot on BBC Radio 1 “In New DJs We Trust” . In addition to his worldwide DJ schedule, Plastician has released records on labels such as Rephlex Records, Soulja, ROAD, Slimzos, A.R.M.Y. and Southside Dubstars as well as running his own record label Terror-Rhythm.

Having been voted into the top 3 ‘best DJ” dubstep forum awards every year since it began, this man has played out to loving fans the world over and has an Australasian tour planned in early 2011!

More Info    Proud Mary is back with her fourth installment presenting Street Chant with Cat Venom, Mtron Bomb, VISTOREY, Tom Tom and Dyson on Friday 17th September, 4:20 K’rd, Auckland.

Street Chant has toured New Zealand with their spiritual antecedents The 3Ds, and were hand-picked to play around Australia with The Dead Weather, while watching every song they released top the b.Net charts.

Street Chant is signed to Arch Hill records - home to their predecessors (The Clean) and their brothers (fellow travellers Surf City, who they’ve shared stages and beers with). Their debut album Means was recorded by legendary producer Bob Frisbee (Shaft, Nothing at All) in 2009, and was released in New Zealand on August 10 ahead of two national tours and a trip to the United States in October.

Cat Venom keep with the punk ideals of old; take something, mess it up, deliver it without caring who cares. In this case, taking the gothic elements (nee: personal loves) of Bauhaus and The Cure but melding it with shades of Robots In Disguise and the devil-may-care attitudes of strong female artists of a bygone age – Lydia Lunch, Exene Cervenka and Siouxie Sioux

Mtron has been a radio and club DJ for years playing alongside some of the finest musical talent from around the globe including Audion, DJ Sega, Yukesk, !!!, Bag Raiders, The Teenagers, Ajax, Villains, Horse Meat Disco, Slap'n'Dash and Ladyhawke.

VISTOREY has been fluttering about the airwaves and local hot spots for the last few years. Just like the urban description, VISTOREY will have you forgo all sleep to spend time with her. Expect girl Pop meets Punk Rock fused together with Italo Disco.

DJ TOM TOM and DYSON are back with the music simply described as perfection. It's Dyson's birthday too so we are making this night extra special.

Proud Mary is a club night for people who enjoy fresh, exciting, pumping tunes. Expect a showcase of some of Australasia's hottest musical talent with people from all walks of life.
