Back bar hosted by Dean Campbell and friends.

Limited guest list for this one. You can make it an Xmas present for a friend if you get in before 6pm on the 24th of Dec. Just mail disco@cassettenine.com and we’ll notify them via e-mail!

Otherwise $10 on the door before midnight. Free house drink on entry before midnight if you have an R&V wristband or ticket stub.

Doc Daneeka:
It’s not common for an artist based in Wales to become the toast of underground music, but Doc Daneeka is just that. With releases on Ramp, Fabric, PTN & Well Rounded in the bag, Doc Daneeka has started his own boutique label, Ten Thousand Yen, releasing other fresh artists like xxxy, Julio Bashmore as well as his own unique material. Bookings all around Europe at the end of last year solidified Doc Daneeka’s energetic DJ sets as one of the most sought after performances by clubs all around the world.
http://tenthousandyen.com/

Nick Hook:
Heavily responsible for the grimy techno-soul of NYC’s Cubic Zirconia and the greasy bass of Drop The Lime’s live show, DJ and producer Nick Hook has been “twisting knobs” (self-description) for a minute now. He is no stranger to the dark underbelly of late night clubs, having played in some of the finest temples of boom the world over. His unique strain of acid-fried basslines and vintage drum machines have kept him in demand amongst a smorgasbord of musicians, as he is currently working with El-P of Company Flow and L-Vis 1990 of Night Slugs. He also has red hair, which is a plus in our books.
http://nickhook.tumblr.com/ & http://CUBICZIRCONIA.TUMBLR.COM

Jillionaire:
Universe schooled, Caribbean made, the Jillionaire is a DJ like no other. He has previously teamed up with M.I.A, Switch, Major Lazer and can currently be found representing Diplo’s record label, Mad Decent. Combined with his energetic onstage presence and versatile sound, he hypnotizes jillions across the globe.

Saturday, October 15 at 10:00pm - October 16 at 6:00am

Cassette Nine

This weekend Razzle Stack returns with some special international guests and a stellar lineup of local ladies!

From Sydney we have MC Kween G + Bad Ezzy with support from MayaVanya, Bridge, R.I.A, Pizza Cat & your host M-Tron.

In The Man Cave we have Safari Boy DJing and Outfit Theatre Company celebrating the wrap of their rad show Love After Dark.

MC Kween G and DJ Bad Ezzy are the newest duo on the musical block. Already established in their own rights as members of KillaQueenz & Hoops the ladies have joined forces to create something new and exciting in club land.

Between them they have the experience of supporting the likes of Public Enemy, Dizzee Rascal, Salt N Pepa, Wu-Tang Clan, Diplo, Kelis, Lady Gaga, The Presets, Yolanda Be Cool, Rye Rye, South Rakkas Crew, Tha Alkaholiks, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Lucky Dube and many more as well as gracing the stages of countless festivals including Good Vibes, BDO, Groovin’ The Moo, Splendour, Parklife, Falls, We Love Sounds and Laneway Festival.

DJ Bad Ezzy is renowned for throwing down mind blowing sets that journey through dancehall, Hip Hop, bashment, tropical house, UK funky, dubstep, garage, club bangers, heavy bass jams and everything in between. She has a knack for picking future sounds and a reputation for leaving a trail of blisters on the dance floor.

As an MC, Kween G’s focus is potent content and flawless delivery and style. Kween G makes music that excites, entertains, and enlightens her listeners, but most of all she makes music to “move ya behind to”. Her work ethic and commitment to her craft is admirable, but it is her fighting spirit, courage and humility that has earned her respect across Australia.

2011 promises to be a big year for these talented ladies - make sure you don’t miss this event.

---------------------------------
IKONIKA.

"DJMAG BEST BRITISH DJ OF 2010 NOMINEE"

With her brilliant debut release 'Please', Ikonika firmly established her place in the Dubstep landscape. Her unique sound continued to progress with further releases on Hyperdub and Planet Mu, as well as a stunning remix of DJ Mujava's 'Township Funk' (Warp). Ikonika's music combines melodic synth patterns, driving drums, melancholic sub bass and unorthodox song structures, simultaneously heartfelt and heavy. Her tracks have been supported by everyone from Kode9, Martyn and Mary Anne Hobbs (BBC Radio 1) to Rob Da Bank (BBC Radio 1) and Flying Lotus. As an in demand DJ, her sets showcase the constantly mutating underground sounds of the UK, spanning from the freshest Dubstep and Funky dubplates to the classic foundations of House and Garage. With her debut album released on Hyperdub in early 2010, a raft of remixes and a busy DJ schedule, Ikonika is certain to fulfill her potential as one the UK's brightest stars.

“One small dubstep for man, one giant leap for experimental UK club music.” - NME

"If Bjork made dubstep instrumentals, this is what might come out" - DJ Mag

"Real compositional sophistication" - WIRE

"London's diverse dubstep producer" - Mixmag

"Ikonika melds the genre's juddering bass with Aphex Twin-style melodic mischief" - The Guardian

"With influences from hip-hop to hardcore metal, Ikonika's music has many different elements to it. She's constantly referred to as dubstep, but believe us, she's so much more" - iDJ

Photos from the night can be seen @ http://bit.ly/galvtk

MUM of Auckland's Cassette Nine, is proud to present the New Zealand debut appearance of the Australian genre bending dance rock duo- METALS.

METALS is Christopher Coe and Candice Butler.

Chris is a Melbourne based producer/writer/DJ who has been composing, performing and releasing recordings under the Digital Primate moniker for several years now. His most recent release "Keep Calm and Carry On" was mixed by The Mad Professor.

Raised in South Australia, Candice was a published poet at age 11 and grew up on stage and TV, performing as a dancer and actor throughout her childhood.

Finding her heart in hip-hop and neo- soul, she performed with local musicians and by chance came to the attention of Professor Griff of Public Enemy and was invited to perform live with them during their Australian tour. This led to an invitation to record her first demo in Atlanta, produced by Professor Griff himself. Candice jumped at the chance, fully immersing herself in the ALT hip-hop and soul scenes and traveling with Griff and Public Enemy in the US.

On returning to Australia, Candice made Melbourne home and began singing and working on many diverse music projects from rock to house, techno to deep funk. After being spotted MCing at an all female hip hop event in Melbourne, Candice was linked up with Digital Primate. The two then decided to write and record.

Shit happened.

✖ AMIGA5HNDRD & SAM NOON
(DUBSTYLE SESSIONS)

Not much is known about this mysterious duo except that they are Dubstyle Sessions residents and have an ear for exceptionally crafted bass music across the 120-140 bpm spectrum. That means Dubstep, Detroit influenced Dub Techno, UK Funky and wonky Future Beats all get a look in.
