There is a long list of people that have helped shape DROPPED over the past couple of years whether it be you the punter, clubs, DJs, friends, randoms, on radio, in print or online and without you all it wouldn't happen. Or it would, but it would suck. So cheer to you all. Rather than have a big long list and run the risk of accidentally leaving someone out though I am going to name but two who have helped way more than they ever had to, and to who I am eternally grateful: Dan Aux and Finz. GC's, both of them.
Bring on the terrible two's!
Local support on the night will be from:
Dan Aux Angela Fisken Soane Sweetmix Kids Bent Serum Jono Peters Shane Aylett Monkz
PeaceTreaty was created in 2009 by DJ Josh Anaya as a means to start expressing himself musically, rather than just spinning the songs of others. He began making bootleg remixes of artists such as David Guetta, Amanda Blank, Wolfgang Garter and more, and by the end of 2009 he was making originals and official remixes. He got two well-received tracks up on Beatport, an original (“Cheaters”) out through Hot Small Records, and also an official remix of “The Illest” by Oh Shit ft. Messinian.
In early 2010 Josh teamed up with fellow Los Angeles DJ Sam Hiller (Groove Radio) and PeaceTreaty became a duo. Sam has spent the last two years working for DJ legend Swedish Egil and his radio station Groove Radio. He has played clubs, raves, and events of all sorts all over Southern California including gigs at Playhouse, The Heist, The Fox Theaters (Pomona & San Bernardino), Cinespace, Nacional, The Standard (DT), and a residency at Arena. Together, Josh and Sam have made PeaceTreaty into a formidable duo.

Last night, or this morning depending upon your prospective, those crazies over at Cassette #9 celebrated the second birthday of their Thursday Night Tea Party.
I happened to stumble into Cassette #9 around 3am, just in time to capture some nice photos.
Please be on the lookout for more snaps from the night!
I was fortunate enough to attend, even though I did arrive very late. By the time I got there either most people had gone home or were so drunk that having a conversation with them proved to be quite a challenge.
It was all good though.
I even gave Colin a birthday kiss on the lips – no tongue was involved - which he seemed to quite enjoy! ;)
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. displaying the Nobel Peace Prize he just won in Oslo, Norway on December 10, 1964. The then 35 year old King was honoured for promoting the principle of non-violent resistance in the American Civil Rights Movement. Photo/Associated Press
Hi all,
On this day in 1929 at Atlanta, Georgia, someone who would be instrumental in forcing America to look at it’s horrible treatment of African-Americans and other ethnic minorities, Martin Luther King Jr., was born.
Having been born in 1962, I’m just old enough to remember the American Civil Rights Movement, the assassination of Dr. King, and the subsequent riots that that senseless act of murder sparked around the United States. I’m, also, fortunate enough to remember some of the speeches he gave, having seen them live on what was then a state-of-the-art Black and White television.
Please take a moment to remember Dr. King on this day and view the video I’ve embedded below. And, do keep what he stood for that in mind the next time you encounter someone who doesn’t look like you.
I totally overlooked this! However, I just found out that the father of P Funk, George Clinton, turned 68 on July 22.
I had the pleasure of meeting George once when I worked at Warner Bros. Records head office in Burbank, California back in the late 80s. And, I had the immense pleasure of seeing him perform twice in Washington, D.C. when his bands were at their most popular. They put on a fantastic show both times!
While any who's every seen Parliament-Funkadelic perform live will know exactly what I'm talking about, to those that haven't, no one could extend a groove the way this band could. Throw in a heavy dose of acid inspired guitar wailing, and that, mixed with all the marijuana smoke that was floating around the venues, outrageous costumes worn by the band - a diaper wearing, dummy sucking guitar player - made for an experience that was almost transcendental.
