"Vincent Mason is known all over the world for his role as DJ Maseo of the legendary Hip Hop group, De La Soul and his electrifying skills as a DJ. No one could have predicted that Maseo’s natural ability and immense talents on the turntable would enable him to travel the world and become a Hip Hop phenomenon.

Born and raised In Brooklyn, New York, Maseo’s interest in music emerged at the young age of six as he observed a family friend practicing on his DJ equipment. Maseo’s ambitious journey to stardom officially began when his mother gave him his very own set of turntables. Destined for success, Maseo dedicated all of his free time to mastering his craft by observing neighborhood DJs. Maseo made his first debut as a DJ, at the age of twelve. By the time Maseo reached high school his DJ skills were immeasurable.

During high school Maseo’s life would be forever changed as he and two of his high-school friends, Kelvin Mercer and David Jolicouer, formed one of the most highly respected and critically acclaimed rap groups, De La Soul. During the course of their long-standing career, De La Soul have received Soul Train, MTV and Grammy award nominations. Enjoying the new way of production he militantly went on to make a few more tracks, one entitled 'Half Drunk' and the other 'Make Our Day' which also made the vinyl release with Gorilla Flex. 5 Months on FuntCase still continues his wave of energetic filth, mixed with other styles to flex his production muscles and has managed to make a fairly quick but effective impact on the scene, getting massive support from the likes of N-Type, Rusko, Crissy Criss, Borgore, Trolley Snatcha and more. That every cause has an effect is common knowledge. For Optiv, Stuart, Toby and Mark, the cause is drum & bass, and their effect is both indelible and undeniable. Known collectively as Cause 4 Concern, the crew came together back at the start of 1999, when Optiv was affiliated with Aspect Records, and Stuart and Mark were working for Vinyl Distribution.
A testament to their talent, it took only a few short months of collaborative creation before they scored their first signing – and not just to any old label –
but the massive and seminal MOVING SHADOW. At the time they were known as nCode, but by July they had become Cause 4 Concern and started their own imprint label. The first 12” dropped that December, and secured the support of DJs Doc Scott, Fierce and Grooverider, amongst many others.

Batman returns having absolutely KILLED it mid ’09 (if you missed it, please ask around!) and having spent the past year playing all the big clubs and festivals and reppin' at music forums and the like under the Mad Decent banner!! Unflappable as a DJ – Sega has to be seen to be believed!

The latest hype act in the Mad Decent stable, DJ Sega has a story that extends beyond the ideal of Diplo’s prodigy – an act whose release schedule, blog scatter and DJ skills are giving the establishment a shake on the East Coast of America… and beyond.

Sega’s father, DJ Brother Rob, raised him on classic soul, and his obsession with music grew from there.
